I'm not surprised that conservatives would make up the myth, and be stupid enough to believe that Obama never brought about real change. But it saddens me to see that many liberals and Obama voters are now expressing the same sentiments. This could be from either one of two reasons: They have been fooled by Republican propaganda, or they were naive enough to think that recession could be fixed and would be over by now. Anyone with even a little economic knowledge knew this recession was going to be long and ugly, and Obama said that himself during his campaign speeches and debates. Harvard University economics professor Martin Feldstein who was former chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers under President Reagan said, "Frankly there's not much he could do even if he stayed in the White House."

Obama did promise to bring about change, and that he did.

1.) He went to one of the roots of the housing collapse, which was deregulation on Wall Street, and passed one of the most sweeping financial regulatory reforms in U.S. history. That's why all those occupy Wall Street protestors need to go home, they don't realize he already put the Wall Street boys in check.

2.) Then he went after our broken healthcare system by passing one of the most sweeping health care reform laws. This allows our premiums to be capped, prevents insurance companies from denying people with preexisting conditions, and generally expands coverage. (Now before you start complaining about it, remember that insurance companies themselves had previously proposed a plan like this, stating that for them to cover people with preexisting conditions, they'd need everyone to be required to purchase health insurance to make up for the additional cost.)

3.) Deployments to Iraq have stopped, troops have been coming home, and in 2014 similar actions will begin in Afghanistan. This a 180 degree turn from the policies of Bush and the proposed policies of John McCain.

4.) The highest number of deportations in U.S. history has occured under the Obama administration. This a 180 degree turn from Bush's lenient stance on immigration. Obama administration deports nearly 400,000 people

5.) Osama Bin Laden, arguably the most evil man in the world, who was solely responsible for all of our dramatic foreign and domestic policy changes regarding national security in the last decade, is now dead. Instead of focusing our money and resources on cave dwelling rebels and third world dictators like Bush did, Obama went straight to the source of terrorism and eliminated him. That is a HUGE change.

Remember, just because conservatives don't like it, doesn't mean it wasn't the change that hundreds of millions of us liberals were asking for, and you can rest assured that he will run on these things in 2012.

"And if we aren't out of Iraq by the time I am president, it'll be the first thing I do."

Failed presidency. He is awful.

If we were standing in soup lines right now, at war with Iran, and in a trade war with China, I'd agree.

Obama really did his part. Unfortunately, ALL presidential candidates say things that they CAN'T fully deliver while in office, as bills have to go through the legislative branch. The GOP has blocked almost everything Obama wanted to pass through, even though many of the items were GOP created. Despite this, he really did some HUGE changes we should be proud of.

Regarding the Wall Street changes, unfortunately many of the laws that are supposed to keep them in check are still unwritten/unpassed. This needs to step up and I hope Obama puts more pressure on lawmakers to get this done. Deregulation helps Wall Street and big corporations and hurts citizens.

Obama is the status quo President. Very little if any change from Bush's policies and little if any impact( and then only negative) on the economy.

I disagree. The looming presence of this unconstitutional healthcare law has stifled the economy since it's inception which in itself was a bribe laden fiasco.

Oh, about his healthcare plan? They are already starting to repeal parts of it after realizing that its too costly and it won't work.

LOL Really now? Yet Fannie/Freddie, pressuring banks to give loans to those who couldnt afford them hasnt been dealt with. Barnie and Dodd have not been dealt with. Obama himself as the great Community Organizer
aided the pressure on banks for loans. He hasnt fixed a damn thing and you know it. And the root of the problem isnt Wall St, its DC.

My God man, are you high? Obamacare is a joke, a sick one at that, that will do great damage to this country. Instead of focusing on giving the economy reassurance and confidence, he dealt with Obamacare. And funny how most of America was against it yet they shoved it down our throats anyways. A portion of it has been scrapped recently by even Obama himself. Its a disaster already and it hasnt yet taken full affect.

3.) Deployments to Iraq have stopped, troops have been coming home, and in 2014 similar actions will begin in Afghanistan. This a 180 degree turn from the policies of Bush and the proposed policies of John McCain.
There are many in Iraq that fear us leaving. And a bit ironic how Obama/Biden claim victory in Iraq when they were against the surge.
He still did not live up to his empty promise of having all troops out of Iraq by now.

Why dont you take a look how they cooked the books on the deportation numbers and then get back to us. You can either do your own research, which I would recommend except for the fact that your research abilities are clearly flawed with all the nonsense youve posted. He, sadly like many others, is NOT doing enough to secure the border. He is simply pandering and playing identity politics with it all. Secure the damn borders and dont dare cook the books to get your numbers up.

Bin Laden is dead because of the policies Obama was against enacted by the previous administration. PERIOD Its that simple.

Remember, just because conservatives don't like it, doesn't mean it wasn't the change that hundreds of millions of us liberals were asking for, and you can rest assured that he will run on these things in 2012.

And remember, just because liberals live off of lies and think saying something that is full of bs over and over again, doesnt make it true or change the facts. Go ahead and give your messiah praise, but he has failed this country and has been a disaster. Sorry if you cant figure...and probably for reasons I cant mention here.
Along with that, Obama has been one of the most devisive Presidents in history. The most arrogant, narcissistic jack ass in this nations history. He has failed to provide hope and confidence to get this economy moving again. He has added more to our nations debt than ever before. He needs to go back to Community Organizing because he is in no way fit to lead. He is nothing but a man child who sees America and our Constitution as deeply flawed and in need of transforming. I pray to God him and ungrateful wife are thrown right out the door in 2012. And I cant wait to hear all the whining and complaining and race card playing from both of them.
