The problem with the Portland OWS movement specifically is that we have a large number of anarchists that were bussed in from other cities by some unidentified party in the mid-90's specifically to riot and clash with police.
The money in the endeavor apparently petered out. Most of the anarchists were young 15-17 year old kids who went home. Many stayed to live on Portland's streets and have been trying to recruit members. They saw OWS as a way to piggyback their own political agenda.
OWS Portland did their best to discourage and hand over the violent members of the movement, including this guy, to the Police who they worked with at all times to keep the entire protest peaceful.
