I think one of the main reasons old bin hiden hung aorund so long was because the paki's were hiding his azz. Funny how the one time we don't let em in on a raid we get him. Or so the story goes.

The tension with Pakistan's been brewing for a while which is why we've been cozying up to Islam Karimov's regime in Herman PizzaCain's fave autocratic dictatorship Uzbeki-beki-beki-beki-stan-stan-stan, to relocate drone bases along their southern provinces for attacks within Afghanistan and the Baluch/Waziri provinces in Pakistan.

Incredible. Not once did you mention the possibility of a mistake being made by U.S./NATO forces.

Wow. Blind nationalism or willful ignorance?

Don't forget that most people in Pakistan are no fans of the United States, they've seen their Muslim brothers in Iraq and Afghanistan die for all the wrong reasons. Why should they support the strong armed bully over their own people?

And Pakistanis are still pi**ed off that Raymond Davis went free.

Does this mean that they won't be getting anymore US foreign aid? Or will they, with a bonus?? With the US stopping financial aid it will probably mean the Taliban stopping their payments to the Pakistani government. Pakistan has been the recipient of US financial aid and bribery payments by the Taliban.

Pakistan is loaded with terrorist breeding farms. Pakistan and Afghanistsan have their problems with their own cross-terrorism. Let the US and NATO forces withdraw and then they can have a go at each other.

Until you realize where your Americanized living standard comes from. Then you'll understand that you don't have a choice unless you want third world status for the U.S.

You can start with USGS Minerals Reports and Maps.

Then you can follow some interviews with (basis of Charlie Wilson's War) Joanne Herring.

i have to say that i dislike a post like this.

have we lost so much respect for human life in this country that people think posts like this are okay now? i think what always made america stand out is the high respect we place on life and freedom.

poverty breeds contempt for human life. is that starting to happen here now?

we need to mind our own business, fix our own border problems, and leave other countries to take care of their own issues, and i agree about suspending foreign aid.

there is incredibly poor leadership in these wars, and we are making enemies all around the world.

the sad part is that none of this is necessary, just like the disaster that was vietnam--unless allowing the crooks to get richer is a high priority for the average american.

the countless lives lost and we have learned nothing.

many of us think the "story" is suspect, considering bin laden had some of his wives with him during the raid "as the story goes".

why wouldn't we have tracked the wives or kept them under surveillance? does anybody even believe that? either we always knew where he was and tried to use him to gather information, or we must have the most clueless surveillance in the history of the world.

or he might have been dead since the allegedly "botched" raid in tora bora, where we allegedly had him cornered and then "lost him".

right.

but it's good to have a scapegoat to allow increasingly interventionist policies, bankrupting our own country at the same time.

Foreign policy is formatted too often by coporate interests rather than purely political ones and it gets even mukier when the two are inseparable with Haliburton etc., as examples of complicity between the two enities. Old Ike warned of this very thing in the late fifties and I guess he was right on the money.

Pakistan as an ally is akin to sleeping with a cactus; it's only a matter of time before you lose some blood.

One has to remember the stupid country was formed through misguided foreign intervention in the first place. Every single time some organization of countries, perhaps even with the best of intentions, ASSUMES to patronize and interfere; another bastard red-headed step-child is created that eventually resents it's heritage and proceeds to bite the hand that enabled it in the first place.

Pull military might off the table and let these idiots feud each other back into mud huts while guarding your borders from any intrusion by the ensuing shrapnel.
