The Democrats can pretend to believe they have solutions to the enormous economic problems they have created under Obama, problems that persist today only because of their wreck-less spending over the last few decades, but they can't escape the reality that their plans are always flawed and immensely ignorant. Idiots have no business running the country.

Quiz: Are you a liberal idiot?

NOTE: I'm well aware of how to spell reckless, apparently some people aren't catching the sarcasm.

Conservatism only exists to pace our evolution. Repubs offer a counter-balance to democrats, the latter proning evolution as a species and society. Repubs in the middle ages were those calling for Gallileos execution. In the 19th century they were those calling for perserving the institution of slavery. In the 20th century they were calling for limiting the rights of blacks.

I wont deny that conservatives are useful. They are there to ensure we don't outpace ourselves in the process of evolving. But to call liberals the stupid ones is just laughable.

Don't you get it? Conservatives (the smart ones) articulate the demands of the least advanced among us... an important role that wont change in the future.

Um, Bush was running the show for 8 years straight when the economy took a nosedive. Republicans ran the country into the ground while screaming "fiscal discipline!" and "small government!"

Bush gave us:
Department of Homeland Security, the most monstrous bureaucracy created in my lifetime. Cost: just a little under $100 billion annual budget. Nearly $1 Trillion per decade. Federalized airport security, so everytime granny gets a bra check at the airport, thank George Bush.

Medicare part D: Passed with Republican president, house, and senate. Cost? Republicans kept telling everyone $400billion for 10 years. Shortly after it was passed, they admitted the actual cost (they sat on the numbers while they twisted arms to barely pass it) to be around $550billion for 10 years.

No Child Left Behind: This monstrosity was a pure disaster that Bush and Republicans just kept feeding and growing with total disregard to the cost and burden. From the Heritage Foundation (conservative think tank)

Quote:
The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 dramatically increased federal spending on and authority over public education in America. According to the Department of Education, the Bush Administration's budget request of $24.4 billion for No Child Left Behind in 2008 would be a 41 percent increase over 2001 spending.[6] This budget request also includes a 59 percent increase in Title I grants to local educational agencies.[7]
But with these funding increases has come an increased administrative burden on state and local authorities. No Child Left Behind created new rules and regulations for schools and significantly increased compliance costs for state and local governments. According to the Office of Management and Budget, No Child Left Behind increased state and local governments' annual paperwork burden by 6,680,334 hours, at an estimated cost of $141 million dollars.[8]
I just still don't get it. How is it that true conservatives still buy into the garbage the GOP spews about small government and fiscal responsibility? They have been WORSE THAN DEMOCRATS at times!!! And just as bad most of the other time. Gingrich and the Republican revolution that pushed the Contract with America was the last time that Republicans did anything to slow down the monster. And that was only for 2 years. As soon as the economy was booming and revenues were up, rather than pay off the national debt and move us to true fiscal conservatism, they started cramming in the pork and offset much of the gains that were made in the first 2 years (Gingrich went right along with it). Only a handful of true conservatives stood up for small government and decreased spending, and they were outnumbered and lost more often than they won.

If people who want smaller government and fiscal sanity don't wake up to who the GOP establishment really is behind their costume of conservatism, we are screwed as a nation.

It's also true that there are more Democratic idiots than Republican idiots. If wisdom was a criteria, nobody would win an election. There are lots and lots of idiots to spare, including those who fling the word around.

if the word had been used less in 2008, maybe McCain would have won, but that's doubtful. His pick for VP was everybody's favorite idiot for the following 3 years.

I agree with you that the Dems are boardering on INCOMPETENCE, but from what I've seen and heard, the Republicans are not any better. None has a handle on what caused this economic situation.
