I agree completely. I'm an Independent who voted for Obama last time but I'd vote for Huntsman in 2012 if he were the nominee. I couldn't vote for any of the other Republican candidates though.

Wow. Coming from you that is quite a testimony. I'm not really up to speed on the candidates, because, well, it doesn't really matter much with respect to the economy. If people are looking for an economic savior, they'll be severely disappointed (even more disappointed than they are with Obama).

So, what really matters is foreign and domestic policies. I'll have to check out Huntsman.

Why would they want to?

Ostensibly the function of the media is keep the electorate informed, but in reality their function is make as much money as they can, and to do that, they need higher advertising rates, and to do that, they need a large viewership, and to do that, they need news bits that titillate.

Talking sensibly doesn't exactly incense people, but saying really bizarre and silly things does, and that's what attracts them to the news bits.

I didn't exactly see a plan. Is there a link (to the plan)?

Huntsman is the best candidate they have, but they can't seem to figure that out.

Jon Huntsman Has A Radical Financial Reform Plan That Even Occupy Wall Street Will Love - Business Insider

The plan calls for capping a bank's assets and the amount they can borrow based on a percentage of GDP, among other things. Fees would be imposed on banks that go over the limits, to be used in future bailouts.

Put a nail in his coffin. With that kind of platform, John Huntsman is now officially relegated to the Pile of Obscurity.

Supposedly, Dodd-Frank was supposed to ensure that TBTF is a thing of the past. Am I missing something?
