I don't get it. Obama gave that speech about how the extra $40 that would be taken out if the payroll tax cuts were not passed could go to a new pair of shoes, or a tank of gas, etc. So why wouldn't he want families to get those extra $40 for a longer period of time?
And if it's good for 2 months, there's no good reason why it isn't a good idea for a year.
Anyone with a brain realizes the Democrat position on this issue is totally vacuous. However, their base is anything but bright and will buy whatever talking points they're fed by their overseers in the DNC leadership.

I would hope that they some of them think that messing with the revenue stream for our Social Security benefits is not a good idea to do it too long.
