If the factory owner kept 99% of the revenue there would be no reason to produce in large numbers since there would be no mass demand for it.
Capitalism created the middle class not the government. That's why there was no middle class in the Soviet Union.
There is no soviet union and I was not referring to communism. True, if the wealthy kept all the money then there would be no demand, thanks for the agreement.

I wasn't talking about communism either, I was talking about government.

The wealthy never keep all of the money with regards to running a business. Where do you get this from?
Did the honest rich people get rich through government intervention or hard work and good business sense? Do the people that work for rich people get paid through their owners or through government intervention?
No government program produced anything without the funds of the producers. It is only from the producers of this country that any government exists. It starts with productive citizens. You are way off base with your sentiments.
Look, A certain segment of our population are entrepreneurs and born business leaders. They are the small minority of people that will create corporations and businesses that will make life better for all of us. The vast rest of the population are either going to be poor or middle class. Now, I am making the observation that the poor and middle class in this country can not and will not exist without government programs, social safety nets, and redistribution of wealth from the wealthy.
The majority of Americans dont want to be savvy entrepreneurs and start their own business. They want to work for someone else, and live a modest life. These people would NOT be living a modest life had it not been for free public education, pell grants, progressive taxes, low interest loans backed by the government, medicare, and so on.
So whenever you hear a politician pay lip service to middle class and poor voters(which do make up 90%+ of the electorate), and these politicians tell them that its hard work and their "individualism" that got them there, they are full of ****. Most would not be where they are if it wasn't for alot of the public services and government programs most Americans take for granted.

Okay, but that doesn't mean the government makes the middle class.

Yes it does, the government props up the middle class through wealth distribution, government programs, and coercion. That's how the middle class was created in this country.
Do you honestly think the middle class would exist in this country if there was no progressive tax system, or government programs? NO, there would be very few in the middle class left.

The middle class can't exist without well developed capitalism with mass production and mass consumption.
