Sebelius overrules FDA, blocks access to Plan B contraceptive

Sad, truly sad. At least make it legal for OTC sale for all children 16 and older.

The President said 3 years ago that they would follow what scientists said.

I'm not voting for this man.

Non-issue.
1. It's still available with a prescription for minors which is a good thing in my opinion due to the irresponsibility and immaturity of the kid as well as the potential for harmful drug interactions and liability cases against the pharmacy that chooses to issue the medication to the minor without a prescription.
2. Condoms are still cheap and available without a prescription.
End of story

My, isn't it surprising that the conservatives aren't praising Obama for this.

Sebelius overrules FDA, blocks access to morning-after pill - The Hill's Healthwatch
Quote:
An administration official was not aware of any conversations about the pill between the two, and said the decision was Sebelius’s alone.
I swear you guys would blame Obama if your letter carrier was late.

Sebelius reports to Obama, does she not? FTR, I don't agree with this at all.

This type of intervention has NEVER been done before. If you don't think this order came from the top......

Nonsense. Of course you will.

Funny, can't give a kid an aspirin without a doctor's note, but buying OTC abortion pills? No problemo.

It's not an abortion pill, it's preventative.

I'm not saying it SHOULD be on the shelf but I do think anyone sexually active should have access to it. This is one of those things you can't "age" properly.

Actually I'm voting third party or independent.

And I give my kids what I think is best for them. The problem here is that the FDA, the doctors, said its ok. Then the Obama administration, which said that they would always follow what science said, decided that they didn't want to do that. A move that has never been done before in the history of our nation.
