It's not global warming, its the Earth's axis tilting that is the true catalyst for climate change. Even the MSM has been giving hints that the planet's axis has tilted by using the recent earthquakes as scapegoats for the shift, which is only partially the truth.

This is very positive, those that actually disagreed that the atmosphere was warming seem to be in agreement, now we can narrow the argument down to the cause.

You're absolutely right... It is REAL!!!

One of the reasons people no longer believe in it is because of all the "HORSE-PUCKIES" that have been slung at the public about it. We've had experts ("EX" - former - - - "SPURT" - drip under pressure) telling us things that are factual, but they, like the politicians, aren't getting a look at the whole picture.

We're being told that the amount of CO2 in the air is acting like a mirror, and reflecting the heat back to the earth, instead of allowing it to radiate out into space. Question... Does that CO2 act like a "one-way" mirror? It allows the heat to pass on the way to the earth, but blocks it from leaving the earth? Or is it a "double-sided" mirror that also blocks a percentage of heat from reaching the earth?

BBC News | SCI/TECH | Sun's warming influence 'under-estimated'

The article says that the effect of the sun getting warmer has been under estimated with regard to the warming of the earth. Now, here's another article...

The Whole Solar System is Undergoing Global Warming., page 1

Quote:
This is a fact that not many people know about, and quite a few people, would like that there was no evidence to back this fact, because some people would like the world to believe that human activity is the cause for global warming on Earth. I am not advocating that releasing harmful gases, and chemicals in the oceans and atmosphere are good, but after a few years of research, I have come to understand that global warming is happening in the Solar System, not just on Earth.
So, just for the sake of argument, let's say that the CO2 reflects 30% of the heat back to the earth. If we have 3 billion BTUs coming from the sun, and the earth reflects 5% back into space. That would mean that without any CO2, 150 million BTUs would be reflected, and the earth would absorb 2.85 billion BTUs.

With the CO2, only 2.1 billion BTUs reach the earth, 105 million BTUs tries to reflect, but 31.5 million is bounced back to earth and 73.5 million BTUs makes it out. So, the earth needs to absorb 2.1315 million BTUs.

So, without the CO2, we get 2.85 billion BTUs, and with the CO2, we only have 2.1315... It suggests that without the CO2, we would get hotter by 718.5 million BTUs. It suggests that the CO2 may not be our enemy....

In which way are you using the cliche, "Global Warming?" As merely saying "the earth is warmer and maybe still be warming?" We don't know until more time passes. Earth may have reached the height of her currrent, warm cycle.

OR...are you using the cliche the way most are, these days, as "Global Warming" the agenda that lies and claims that the earth being warmer right now is mandmade?!

HUGE dif and we need to know your answer.

Yes, the earth is warmer at this time than it was in the 1960s.

No, there is no truth to this Political Agenda a la Al Gore that claims that man is the fault of the earth being in her latest warm cycle.

Correction... 2.1315 billion BTUs.

Sorry about the typo.

FWIW - The CO2 driven 'greenhouse effect" is caused by short wave solar radiation (light) is transmitted through the CO2 and other gasses with little attenuation. As this energy is absorbed by the surface the temperature of the surface is increased and re radiates some of the energy in the form of longer wave (IR) radiation. The atmospheric CO2 absorbs these wave lengths and becomes warmer. This is how "greenhouse gasses" change atmospheric temperature. As the concentration of CO2 is greater (due to the atmosphere being denser) near the ground it heats the ground as well.

Increasing CO2 concentrations, primarily by burning previously stored coal, result in a warmer atmosphere and surface. This effect has been observed in recent highly accurate temperature measurements from ground, aerial and space sensors. The loss of ice in the polar caps and continental glaciers are another indicator of a warmer climate.

The point of the deniers is to create uncertainty through advertizing, misdirection and straight out lies in order to protect their existing investment in carbon fuel based industries, transportation and electrical energy generation. Their short term private profit is, to them, far more important than the consequences of global warming. I expect nothing less from the entrenched amoral financial industry. I also do not expect any changes until the warmer temperature begin to disrupt food supplies and other commercial activities.
