"The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct Palestinian people to oppose Zionism. For tactical reasons, Jordan, which is a sovereign state with defined borders, cannot raise claims to Haifa and Jaffa, while as a Palestinian, I can undoubtedly demand Haifa, Jaffa, Beer-Sheva and Jerusalem. However, the moment we reclaim our right to all of Palestine, we will not wait even a minute to unite Palestine and Jordan."

Stunning declaration coming from the 8th Palestinian National Congress:
"Jordan is linked to Palestine by a national relationship and a national unity forged by history and culture from earliest times. The creation of one political entity in East Jordan and another in Palestine would have no basis either in legality or as to the elements universally accepted as fundamental to a political entity."
--(R. Hamid (ed.) Muqararat al-majlis al-watani al-filastini 1964 Resolutions of the PNCs 1964-1974, Beirut, PLO Research Centre, 1975, p178 Declaration of the 8th Palestinian National Congress)
"There is no such country [as Palestine].... Palestine is a term the Zionists invented.... Our country was for centuries part of Syria."

"There is no difference between one Palestinian and another. We are all Palestinians and we are all Syrian Arabs."
--Abdulwahab Darawshe, Israeli Arab member of parliament
"We consider Palestine as part of Arab Syria, as it has never been separated from it at any time. We are connected with it by national, religious, linguistic, natural, economic and geographical bonds."
--The First Congress of Palestinian Muslim-Christian Associations Palestinian people - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
So? Texans are Americans. If Mexico came to overthrow Texas' government and eject everyone or put them in refugee camps, would you be fine with it because Texans could just go to California or New York to be with other Americans?
Do you have to have an internationally recognized name for the place you live in order to not be kicked out of your ancestral homeland?

Not a fair comparison.. How about if the OWS protesters claimed ownership to the lands they occupy, and then we kick them off.. Does this mean the OWS protesters should be classified as some special group?
Everyone from the PLO to a Mitt Romney spokesman jumped on Gingrich for this assertion, but he happens to be absolutely correct: no Arabic-speaking Muslims identified themselves as "Palestinian" until 1920, when, in rapid order this appellation and identity was adopted by the Muslim Arabs living in the British mandate of Palestine.
Daniel Pipes is president of the Middle East Forum and Taube distinguished visiting fellow at the Hoover Institution of Stanford University. His bi-weekly column appears regularly in the National Review and in newspapers around the globe, including the Jerusalem Post and Yisrael ha-Yom (Israel), Al-Akhbar (Iraq), Die Welt (Germany), La Razón (Spain), Liberal (Italy), National Post (Canada), and the Australian..
[Website] ...it is of the Internet's most accessed sources of specialized information on the Middle East and Islam.
They are just people who live in the area referred to as Palestine. Just as Jews also live in that same area called Palestine. There's NOTHING ancient about living in Palestine.
Palestinian Arabs - Yes. Palestinian Jews - Yes. Palestinian Palestinians - No such thing.
Anyone who lived in the area before 1948 was Palestinian no matter if they were Jewish, Arab, Druze, etc. Jordan was part of the British Mandate on the area called Palestine. So definitely Jordan is part of the Palestinian area besides it has a majority of Palestinians as part of its population.
That may be correct, but does it solve the conflict?
Not only doesn't it have to solve the conflict--it wasn't meant to. The comment was meant to keep Gingrich's name in the news because (what a surprise!) he has ideas about becoming our next President. He's just trying to plant the ideas in peoples' heads that foreign policy is not out of his scope.

You are being absurd.
