Are your political views substantially different now than they were when you were younger? Did you go from being a socialist to a libertarian? A Republican to a Democrat? How have your views evolved over time? And what signficant life experiences and insights drove that evolution? I'd like to hear your stories.

I used to be more Liberal. I hated king george and voted for ketchup boy in 04. Then I started spending time on boards like this and the entitlement mentality of the left has pushed me further right. The last mid terms (10) I voted a straight ticket for the first and probably the last time ever.

I dont like any party having complete control of all 3 branches of gvmt.

Thanks all for replying, but I was hoping for more depth. Can you pinpoint any significant event or insight that changed your thinking on a particular issue? Or even shifted your overall political philosophy?

"If you're not liberal in your youth, you have no heart.
If you're not conservative in your old age, you have no money."

My conservative views have strengthened since the economic downturn.

It is enforced by the proof that big government doesn't help.

"Don't allow a crisis to go to waste." seems to be the call of the day whenever we have major economic problems.
