The bottom line is that the President will be running his campaign based on class warfare. Just a few months ago, after spending this country into more debt than ever before, he proposed a plan as follows:
President Obama called Monday for up to $1.5 trillion in new taxes on "the wealthiest Americans and the biggest corporations," the major part of a debt reduction plan designed to cut more than $3 trillion over the next decade......
He pledged to veto any debt reduction plan that cuts Medicare, but does not include more taxes from the wealthiest Americans
That is class warfare, plain & simple. All done while taking $4 million vacations and taking huge amounts of money from Wall Street. And that is hypocrisy, plain & simple.
Didn't Congress already gut medicare as part of Obamacare ?

Yup, and he will probably win. Standing up for the middle class in the "war of the classes", is a smart strategy.
Now granted, the Republicans have a huge opportunity, since Obama has been so ineffective as president. However, they are in the process of squandering that opportunity by attacking the middle class.

Well, I assume to pay for at least a part of $800 billion of "medicare reform" that congress pushed through in 2003, without concerning self with... where's the money? But republicans would rather stick with "Obamacare".

"Obama should learn from whence he came... Illinois. What he propses isn't working out so well for Illinois...
Quote:
Just a day after passing a tax break package that would benefit some businesses, House lawmakers on both sides of the aisle are pushing for a rollback of the corporate portion of the recent income tax increase."
Instead of leaving the state, as with the Illinois disastrous corporate income tax rate hike, corporations will just leave the country if Obama and the Dems manage to raise the corporate tax rate.
1- We were talking about federal income tax receipts. You skipped that and went for federal tax receipts instead. I obliged.
2- You presented a link with data, I obliged to use it and debunked the myth you maintained, and are likely to cling on to. Facts such, no?
So, now you want to make another switch to revenue "needed" to run government? Then please do tell, how Reagan's tax cuts, fixing loop holes and spending was meeting THAT target.
LOL, it is you, my friend, who took the data and mangled it, using completely arbitrary and useless parameters. I understand you needed to do that in order to support, what you believe passes for argument.
The facts stand on their own. Reagan reduced the top marginal rate and revenue was unchanged.
Do you wish to pursue the myth that tax rates, independent of tax code, is relevent?
So... you're admitting that government-run health care is NOT an improvement. Thank you!
Actually it's going to be better than sliced bread.
You don't have to get insurance and pay any premiums until you get sick and need it. There is no waiting period or pre-existing clause. That is a big plus to anyone who has been paying high premiums.
