In talking with him, the one thing I come away with is that so much of his thinking comes out of the 'fixed pie fallacy.'
CARPE DIEM: The Fixed Pie Fallacy

If a rich guy has money, it's because he took it from a poor guy. I never forget one time we were talking about job creation. My friend looked at me and said, "You know what the super-rich think of you? They think your're a sucker." Of course that's not the way I see it. I think for example, if a Steve Ballmer were to 'think of me' it would be as a potential customer.

I'm convinced that a huge share of left-wing ideology flows out of that fixed-pie fallacy. If we could just get econ 101 as a required topic in high schools, we would never elect another Obama again.
i agree with you on that. things like free trade "grow the pie", even at the expense of the "median american", so i support them. Or for example, the easier it is for companies to fire people when they need to, the more the pie grows in the long run. So yes, I agree.

however, even when playing "zero sum games", where growing or shrinking the pie is a non-issue, Republicans are basically engaging in class warfare. Just look at the recent Bush tax cuts vs. Payroll tax cuts dispute for evidence that Republicans prioritize the wealthy's capital gains cuts over the working class's payroll tax cuts.

Yep, these right wing crybabies that are whining about how mean liburals are to the ultra rich, are not for the most part rich themselves.

I've been around this forum long enough to know. In general, they are white, poorly educated, living pay check to pay check or on fixed incomes.

That's the supreme effectiveness of right wing propaganda.

The people hurt from these tax policies are in this forum doing the dirty work of the ultra rich for them.

By starting threads crying about how mean we are to them....LOL

Just curious to see their reasoning.
Dems will promote any agenda that puts people into aggrieved groups. Sadly the do not see people as people. They only see, race, wealth, gender, etc.

It wasn't Jesus.."Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's".
Maybe you're thinking of Robin Hood "Take from the rich and give to the poor".

Better stick to Robin Hood because Jesus never advocated TAKING it from them. He advocated freely giving it away and they would be judged in Heaven for what they did or didn't do.

Robin Hood, on the other hand, took matters into his own hands which is more in line with what the left want to do.

"Jesus" never existed but if he did, he would clearly see you so called Christians" are doing a pathetic job of "giving it away".

So that's when the adults with their "ethics" needs to take over.

Jesus would be considered the poster child for the hardcore "class warfare" liberal. He states many times that greed is bad, the rich will not get into heaven, amongst many other things.

"Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."
