Smaller government, less intrusive government, less taxes, a robust, domestic energy plan...all things obama has NOT done and look at the difference between the two nations.
Canada weathered the financial meltdown and global recession quite well, under conservative leadership, whereas the situation in the US, under the liberal obama UNleadership, has gotten demonstrably worse.
The Obama administration and its economic czars have flailed about for years, baffled about how to get the U.S. economy growing.
Look to the North, you dolts.

Canada's incomes are rising, its unemployment is two percentage points below the U.S. rate, its currency is strengthening and it boasts Triple-A or equivalent sovereign ratings across the board from the five top international ratings agencies, lowering its cost of credit.
These sound principles work every time they are tried, and they have led to a transformation in Canada.
Canada is booming, the US is flailing under obamanomics.
The difference is stark, the example instructional.
Canada still has universal heathcare for all its citizens. Their conservative party is not the same as the far right in the US.
MOVING towards more and more privatization of the system...because they have found the system of UHC is collapsing under it's own weight.
Not exactly the same, but the principles and policies Harper has implemented, after gaining a MAJORITY from the voters, are conservative enough. Less taxes, smaller government, more domestic energy production.

Exactly, Canada also has a state bank, much higher union membership than the US, more regulations, and a much higher income tax. Sounds like the exact opposite of anything the right wingers here in the US want.
When are people finally going to realize that Obama is hurting this country on purpose. It's all part of "Leveling the playing field" as he likes to say.

never gonna happen, they are now allowing people to buy their own private insurance but the universal health care system will never me removed. In case your wondering why so many US firms move production to Canada:
"In 2002, automotive companies claimed that the universal health care system in Canada saved labour costs.[140] In 2004, health care cost General Motors $5.8 billion, and increased to $7 billion.[141] The UAW also claimed that the resulting escalating health care premiums reduced workers' bargaining powers.[142]"

It's what they are doing NOW, not what they have done in the past that is getting them out of this. There have been several changes in their policies recently that lean more conservative that is allowing them to do this.
Honestly I see Canada becoming more German like in its Society and Economy. It's a small country and very homogeneous which lends its self to the German model.
Karl Marx preached against effectiveness of government. According to him, change cannot come from the government, but from the people. May be Marx was actually a right winger (as we all know, Adam Smith would qualify today as a socialist by "Real Americans" for many things he said).
