Gingrich to black people: Demand paychecks, not food stamps

WASHINGTON — Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich said Thursday he is willing to go before the NAACP and urge blacks to demand paychecks, not food stamps.

Gingrich told a town hall meeting at a senior center in Plymouth, N.H., that if the NAACP invites him to its annual convention this year, he'd go there and talk about "why the African-American community should demand paychecks and not be satisfied with food stamps."

He also said he'd pitch a new Social Security program aimed at helping young people, particularly African-American males, who he said get the smallest return on Social Security.

Thats because unemployment in the minority community INCREASED last month while the rest of societies decreased. Why wouldnt you want minorities to have a job? Are you a racist?

Yet the blacks will continue to keep the current liberal politicians like Obama and Pelosi in power even while their unemployment rates are rising.

That's what they really need to question -- how great is Obama for blacks really? It's the illegals who have no problem finding work. Partly because they will work for less than minimum wage and don't expect overtime pay or vacation pay but also because the politicians just can't promise them enough rewards.

As a black person, i'm not concerned in the least bit about how great Obama is for blacks. I'm concerned with how great he is for the country. The country comes first.....didn't know he was the president of black folks only.

Besides, am i to assume that a Republican would be "good for blacks?" Bush and Reagan was better for me personally?

More white people are food stamps than black people. I wonder why Newt isn't demanding white people get off food stamps?

Well he hasn't been very good to me -- but if you go by employment rates and increasing middle class -- then yes Reagan was the best.
