As does a progressives blind allegiance to the state

Carter also dismantled our military and look how well that turned out.

SS and Medicaid are both insolvent. These things can't be saved without modifications to better match today's life span. When SS was initiated the typical lifespan was only 67 years, it is now 80. They didn't take into account that lifespans would increase by 20%. Let's not forget that the first recipient of SS paid in $26.00 and got paid $22,000. The system is unsustainable

Medicaid has too many issues to address in a single post.
Rising Medicaid Spending to Bankrupt States, Federal Government

I want a genie in a bottle, but I understand that it isn't a reasonable expectation. Americans better start weaning themselves off the nanny state because it's about to implode. The proverbial straw.

This poll is completely wrong. It's the elites against the people, and more specifically the politicians and power brokers that they control, who are creating a riff between the haves and have-nots. They want us focusing on petty political and social differences instead of on them. It's faux racism, class warfare, pandering and social steering at its finest.

Exactly right. In most cases, polls are created by people who need other people to agree with them. It's about as predictable as a pro-LGBT poll on CD, with every multiple account holder skewing it to their side. It's meaningless.
Carter did not dismantle our military. Clinton lowered military spending and we went into one of the greatest eras of economic growth this country has ever seen.

And you jump right to the taxes part. Spending cuts are going to be more important, and more often then the tax increases.

How do you expect to change the constitution or to outlaw massive programs without public support?

In a single word...no.

If I am a progressive thinker and you are totally in opposition to my line of thought, doesn't that make you a regressive thinker?
