Census shows 1 in 2 people are poor or low-income - Yahoo! Finance
Nearly half of Americans are low-income as rising expenses, unemployment shrink middle class.

December 5, 2012

....About 97.3 million Americans fall into a low-income category, commonly defined as those earning between 100 and 199 percent of the poverty level, based on a new supplemental measure by the Census Bureau that is designed to provide a fuller picture of poverty. Together with the 49.1 million who fall below the poverty line and are counted as poor, they number 146.4 million, or 48 percent of the U.S. population. That's up by 4 million from 2009, the earliest numbers for the newly developed poverty measure....

America has always been this way. There has always been a huge underclass but what makes America great is that every single one of them has an equal chance to become hugely successful. No one is going to deny you because of where you came from or what your last name is. If you work hard and keep your chin up, good things WILL happen for you here.

That is what sets America apart and why the 21st Century will once again be an American Century of leadership for the world. Nobody comes close to what we have going here.

Countries with the most capitalism have the most wealth.

Countries with the most socialism have the most freeloaders.

Which is why europe is collapsing. Freeloaders demanding more goodies, rioting like petulant foot-stamping toddlers when those goodies have to be curtailed.

Don't you mean righties since they are the ones who keep telling us that our country will be a third world country shortly. Of course we have been hearing this for 3 years now.
