That's terrible news because Gingrich is exactly who the Republicans do not want to nominate. Gingrich will get hardly any registered Democrats or Independents head-to-head vs Obama. Didn't the Tea Party Republicans want an outsider? Newt is a globalist, big government spender with ties to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. He may do well in Florida but the Gingbag will get hammered out west and uppermidwest in the Liberatrian leaning states.
I must be missing something here, why do people want Newt to run for President again? (Again as in I don't recall his supporters giving reasons why) Or is it one of those conspiracy things where the Gov want Newt and skew the polls?
That was a surprise. Romney had a good lead until a few days ago. The debates helped Newt win this one.
And THIS ..

The Republicans are in pretty serious trouble. These primaries have been like watching the Hindenburg crash in slow motion. Gingrich is the ultimate poison pill, and he fed the South Carolina voters enough smarmy B.S. to get them to swallow it. Honestly, the Republicans don't have anywhere to turn for a strong candidate.
No matter who they pick, they will be charged with consolidating a fractured party, and no matter how many people scream "anyone is better than Obama," it will be very difficult to pull the independents AND the various segments of the Republican base after such a contentious and vitriolic race.
