She was a star in the 8th District, and that's what matters to the 8th District. Even my uber-rwnj Republican birther stepfather admires her, and did before the shooting, because she listened, regardless of voter affiliation. And she didn't only listen, she responded to individual concerns. That is what makes a representative great, not the anonymous opinions of people on a message board.
Having followed her recovery, I can only express my deep admiration for this woman. In the face of death and almost a complete vegetative state, this woman has shown more courage than most on this forum.
Best wishes to her family for her full recovery, and hopefully in the future, she can return to her political career.
At this present time she can't manage to speak in complete sentences, it's obvious that she is not fit to serve as a Congressional representative. Resigning is the right thing to do in this situation and IMO she should have done this a long time ago. This reminds me of Ted Kennedy who refused to resign even though he had terminal brain cancer ... he was a US Senator until death. Absurd. How can one properly serve their constituents in such situations? THEY CAN'T!
When and if she recovers sufficiently to perform the duties of a Congressional representative she can run for office again.
My regret is that her shooting was used WRONGLY by the left about rhetoric.

Yep, she pretty much was a nobody. Then she got shot, and the dems rode her into the ground like a lame horse.
The latest polls showed the public was losing interest in her, so the dems decided to put her out to pasture.
Remember how the dems carted her in for that vote, I'm certain they had a rope tied to her arm so she could wave.
