State Rep. Rita gave ally

Ah, but the clincher is this quote. Rauxcism!

Quote:
Denying such an academically talented and civic-minded student a tuition waiver because of her father’s job would amount to blatant discrimination against a promising African-American student.
Yeah, so her constituency is heavily african american so that scholarship is definitely going to a minority student....it's just interesting that when challenged over giving it to the kid of a very close friend...gotta play the race card.

And the kid who got the full ride has a dad making 6-figs....not exactly a challenged upbringing.

Beale, who makes $110,556 a year as a Chicago alderman, says none of that put his daughter, Taylor Beale, at the head of the line when Rita was deciding which students would get four years of free college tuition.
“She filled out the application, submitted it to the state rep and received the scholarship,” says Beale.
He describes his 21-year-old daughter as a good student who earned the tuition waiver on merit.
I mean who do they think they are fooling.

As a native Chicagoan I have to clear up some facts.

#1, the woman's district is mostly in the suburbs, not Chicago.

#2, anyone who thinks Chicago politics is controlled by Blacks is either extremely ignorant or just plain stupid

I n state Rep. Robert Rita’s legislative district — which covers a swath of Chicago’s south suburbs and part of the city’s far South Sid

It's controlled by a vast network of cronyism, graft and corruption...regardless of skin color. It's just funny to see this guy hand off a plum scholarship to a key political ally pre-emptively defend himself from criticism by playing the race card.

As an Alumni of the school she will be attending, they had the same shady dealings going on there long ago including the scandal where bunches and bunches of politically connected kids got admitted to the school when they really didn't qualify academically. This SCAM has been going on for decades on the backs of the little people that have actually had to pay tuition....like me.

Lastly, no one mentioned that Chicago politics was controlled by Blacks. Seriously, WTH did you get that one from?

Mathguy - Whay you call cronyism, graft and corruption here in Chicago we call "business as usual". Our politicians are good guys. Hell they even let the dead vote.
