Swedish specialty: Pink pixellation of dark-skinned criminals and pixellated anonymization of wanted criminals

Political correctness.

They also obscure the identities of people wanted by the police. What's the point of deven posting the pictures in that case?

Whenever I'm reading a crime story I always know what race or religion a criminal is because the media always goes to such great lengths to ignore it or cover it up.

MEDIA MOGULS ADMIT SKEWING RACIAL REALITY IN NEWS, ON TV
John Langley, producer of the television show "Cops," admitted that he consciously inserts an anti-white bias into his programming:

"I show more white people than statistically what the truth is in terms of street crime," Langley said. "If you look at the prisons it's 60-something percent people of color, and 30-something percent of white people. If you look at 'Cops,' it's 60 percent white and 40 percent [blacks and Hispanics] . . . it's just the reverse. And I do that intentionally.”

All pixelated pictures look like that.
that's the idea. You're not meant to be able to recognise the person at all.

What's your point ?

Wow...a thread about Swedish political correctness. Because there isn't enough of it in this country to talk about.

Well, the leading right wing media in the USA goes the other way around... the "fair and balanced" approach, and then some.
