This issue reminds me more of France's ban on the burkha than it does anything else. At the heart of everything is a woman's choice to have control of her body regardless of what some crackpot ancient mythology purports. In France, many viewed the burkha ban as an infringement of religious rights but how far must we go to respect the religious institutions and their "rights" when it comes to personal freedoms?
In the U.S., we have indicted and convicted people such as Warren Jeffs for using his "religion," which was really more of a cult, to sleep with numerous underage girls and young women. We accept that using "It's my religion" as an excuse is not morally copacetic to get away with acts of immorality in that light.
In France, the burkha ban was focused on a strict impingement of female liberty promoted by a bunch of scrofulous, semi-celibate hypocrites in the Middle East who don't know how to deal with their own human desires. Should we allow these ancient sentiments of misogyny to rule our lives merely because we stamp it with this ridiculous label of "It's my religion and must be respected!" After all, the kin to those same Middle Eastern imams is ever present at the Vatican, anyway.
Forcing Catholic institutions to provide birth control for its female employees is simply a basic step toward allowing women the freedom to practice what they wish to practice regardless of what their employer's religion is. Besides, in a large number of cases, the Catholic organization greater than 50 people is typically a hospital or school which must draw from a larger pool of talents - often outside the Catholic faith. If this weren't the case, then it wouldn't matter because every female Catholic employee would ideally be birth-control free anyway. But, because there clearly is a wanton desire to have birth control provided to women working for these organizations, this organization which receives federal funding should have no say in what they will or won't cover in terms of their health insurance - especially when the decision is made by a bunch of patriarchal child rapists who wish to push their faith into every corner of the world.
Those doggone Catholics are getting might uppity lately at our Dear Leader and his minions in the HHS, forcing Catholic schools, hospitals and charities to buy birth control pills, abortion-producing drugs and sterilization coverage for their employees.
A lot of that FBI warning is actually true. A criminal justice professor of mine (30 years as a cop, still serving) told us during a lecture on terrorism that there have been several instances of officers being shot at by right-wing extremists who literally believe that the only legitimate law enforcement authority is the Sheriff's Office.
This thread is not about that. How about sticking to the topic of this thread which is not about extremists ok ?
You asked the question.
Sorry if you don't like the answer.

The hospital and church can completely refuse any benefits from the government, pay taxes and be on its own.
Do you realize that you're contradicting yourself throughout this thread?

Has this ever occurred or are you making it up?
Fabrication really doesn't open the door for discussion.
Not in the US. Abortion is legal. Birth control is legal. Gay marriage is legal.
And the religious whackos want to end all of that.
Abortion and reproductive rights are being challenged in many states based on religious beliefs (see Komen); women suffer.
Many religious whackos are against birth control; women suffer.
Where is gay marriage legal? In a few states.
Your posts are frequently dishonest.
When you get rid of all the religions the only "god" left is the government to tell you what is right or wrong.
Government is the religion of the extreme liberal. It serves some of the same purposes: impart social justice, legislating morality, foster charity. In a metaphor kind of way...
No entity has a greater hatred of "the church" than religions of faiths other than whatever "the church" proclaims.
Not sure what this means but if you are saying churches disagree with each other than that is true but try to stamp our their core beliefs and see them unite.
Face it, the government in the US has acted as a moderator to keep extremist religious beliefs from dominating our country. If it had not been for our government, we would still be executing "nonbelievers."
