Double standard? Political correctness? Obama administration? Thoughts? Conspiracy theorists are free to throw in your 2 cents.

Isn't his show on HBO? If so, that is the reason. Plus he is classless.

Or are you saying why does nobody call him on it?

If that is the reason, because he is even more of an entertainer than Rush is. He speaks out of his a-- to get attention.

He has no sponsors. He answers to no one except his fans which he has an abundance of.

I think it was worded incorrectly. I think he was meaning why does Maher not get called out by the media.

Cable vs. over the air. If Limbaugh was on XM/Sirius he would have the same rules as cable. If Maher was on broadcast channels he'd have those rules.

No conspiracies. Just simple law.

One show is on a subscription-based cable program. The other uses public airwaves and fall under the FCC.

Obama? Seriously?

In my lifetime, it's conservatives that have gotten their panties in a wad over "obscenity" on the public airwaves, not liberals. We like to say whatever the fu@k we want to.

I'd be all for Limbaugh cussing his little tiny heart out all day long on the radio, if he wanted to.

Federal laws are far more restrictive with regard to obscenity standards for broadcast radio, which Limbaugh uses and is free to users. If he went to a paid subscription carrier like Sirius, he could say whatever he wanted to. HBO is a pay cable outlet and has far more latitude for obscenity and sexual content because they supply paid content.

Sorry, no double standard. Howard Stern ring a bell?
