I agree with that article. The reason why a lot of other Americans don't agree with it is because none of them have ever experienced fighting a war on their own turf other than Hawaiians. It's easy to rationalize collateral damage when it's not your family that's at risk.

It is estimated that over a million civilians have died directly or indirectly because of our invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan; many more have been wounded or displaced.
From all accounts from veterans of these two wars the rules of engagement totally breaks down out of fear for one's life which leads to killing any innocent civilian that gets to close to any patrol.
if they hear one shot fired soldiers out of fear for their lives will open up with automatic weapons firing indiscriminately into buildings
