public defenses of Obama's sigature achievement?

Not so much:

Obama will avoid healthcare defense during court review - The Hill's Healthwatch

The only people that still publically champion that abomination of a law are message board liberals.

No democrat running for election in 2012 is talking about it, including Obamacare.

Excellent point that's worth repeating time and again. Not much of a "signature achievement" if everyone in the party is running from it.

The reason they are playing it down is that it's going to kick in with the whole mandatory purchase thing in what? A year or so?

There are going to be a number of PO'd younger (and poorer) people that weren't paying attention that will have to start buying health insurance. This will put some pressure on the Dems in the 2014 mid-terms.

I'm not completely negative about Obamacare....I'm just explaining how there is an impending backlash from a segment of society that is generally more democratic leaning in their voting.

Nobody needs to champion it anymore. It's law.

That is probably the silliest post I have read in a while.

Politicians run for re-election based on their past performances.

If you voted for a monumental piece of legislation, as they have claimed, They should be out bragging about it as their crown achievement.

What else should a politician seeking re-elction run on?

Apparently if your of the democrat persuasion your running on "Bush's Fault" and that's about it. Oh and there is the new mantra of how the republicans hate women and want to kill them all. That appears to be the big platform put out by democrats. Running on your record is hard to do when it's a complete and utter failure. At least Obama and his crew know this. His supporters are blinded by the rhetoric and leg tingling still going on it appears.

Playing it down? Ummm, I think the playing it up will begin soon, or even sooner...

Etch-a-Sketch Romney isn't talking about his socialist healthcare plan either (which Obamacare was based on).

In fact, the flip-flopper failed former governor is deleting all references of it in his books, and is practically pretending he was never Mass. governor.

You would think this would be the top subject of Obama's campaign for re-election. That's what he campaigned on in 2008..healthcare for all.
Now we have it and it's like a dirty secret to the Dems who won't discuss it.

You would think socialist RomneyCare would be the top subject of Flip-Flop Romney's campaign for president. He was a failed governor, and RomneyCare was his only real significant achievement during his one and only term in office. Now he has it and it's like a dirty secret to the GOP who won't discuss it.
