I don't see how this could be legal for a variety of reasons.

For example when you sign up for these services the TOS generally forbids sharing the account with others, that's a contract and in essence the employer is interfering with that contract.

The bill was rejected in the House. It's not yet been taken up in the Senate.

I smell a lawsuit, this isn't legal.

Everyone just needs to delete their accounts and try meeting their friends for coffee instead.

The Republican corporationists won't stop until employers can completely control the workers.

I don't get it? I have family on FB, mostly talk to them on the phone...I mostly use it as comical and satire. Getting a good laugh, and making others laugh. It in no way mirrors my "real" life. So? Whats the point? Anyone at any second can post something disturbing, about themselves or you. Fact or not. I have no control over that. My application and decision to be hired, based off of that? Yeah Right...bad joke.

No You cannot have my password, I have an agreement with FB for their security reasons. And it has nothing to do with my performance at work. It has nothing to do with my "character"

I was going to say that because I can't either. Maybe you have to deactivate your account before you apply for jobs. It all does seem very wrong to me and a gross invasion of privacy.

Yep, next they will be asking for you text messages. Ludicrous. But, perhaps it will make people think about what they post now....
