Good luck with that. He may succeed in pushing one, or more, his appointees over to the majority, with rhetoric like that!

This is classic right wing fear mongering. What? the rotten bastard wants to provide health care to the uninsured in a culture of profiteering insurance companies and health care companies? The outrage!!!! The republicans had eight years of power, and they did nothing to serve Americans. They are in the pockets of the corporations and don't give a damn about the people. That much is clear by now. What is amazing is that all their right wing zombie armies are acting like a real public-minded president is a fascist? None of you has a person without access to health care or perhaps a preexisting condition?

If Obama found a cure for cancer, the same posters would be ranting in outrage about it. I don't get it. We should be able to work together on this issue, instead of throwing whole segments of our society under the bus for partisan bragging points.

Obamacare made no true effort at working together. No GOP ideas were truly considered, including tort reform , which is a giant part of Health Care costs. I suspect far left Dems did not want their constituents to give up their Lottery Victories via Lawsuits.

This is a pretty remarkable post. I suspect this poster didn't listen to 5 seconds of the arguments. Had he, he would have learned that a single payer system would pass constitutional muster, however this mess is simply unconstitutional.

I did listen, but the fat lady has not sung. We'll see the outcome.

Assuming you are right, do you believe for a second that a single payer system would be supported by Republicans? They would be screaming socialism (and picking up insurance kickbacks) all the way from here to 2030, as would a healthy share of Democrats. Expecting our government to do right by its people is apparently no longer possible in this country, because the corporations are now citizens and the ones who get serviced.

It is all about bending over before corporate power. I can see way the scummy politicians do it. What I cannot understand is why conservative working class people do it. I am amazed with all the endless apologists for corporate greed, crowing about the brilliance of paid shills, and generally acting like attack dogs on the leash of guys like Trump, Romney,Murdoch, Koch, etc.

No, I don't believe a single payer would be supported by the majority of Americans. So what? The Supreme Court isn't designed to be an end run around the will of the people.

FYI, Obamacare is the insurance industries wet dream.

Default Constitutional Scholar Obama Warns "Unelected Justices" Not to Strike Down Health Care

Obama Warns 'unelected' Supreme Court Against Striking Down Health Law | Fox News

Really, Mr. President, you don't understand how an "unelected" group of people can strike down a bill? Ever heard of Separation of Powers or checks and balances? You can't govern by fiat, Mr. Obama.

Wow Obama adopting the language of conservatives about judicial activism. I never thought that day would come.

Edit: I personally think a mandate to buy health insurance by the Federal government is Unconstitutional. If Democrats want the mandate, it needs to implemented individually by each state or there needs to be an amendment to the Constitution.
