No it is not. Two people of the same sex and the same race who have a relationship are not anything like a black woman with a white man. I don't see the logic in suggesting that gays and lesbians are another species or race.
So if a law was passed that, say, deaf people and non-deaf people cannot marry... you would see no correlation to miscegenation laws?
It doesn't have to be about race (species, really?) to be analogous.
Legal analogies, especially.
Since most Americans' familiarity with the legal process only comes from television dramas, this is expected. However, it's not REALITY.
Incidentially, when the NY Legislature was voting on Marriage Equality, I sent Mrs. Loving's statement to a NYS Representative. I didn't know it at the time but he was also an attorney. He answered my email and said as an attorney he agreed. He also voted FOR Marriage Equality

Opponents haven't lost. They're in the battle unless the Supreme Court rules that bans against ssm are illegal.
Biologically, homosexuality is real and exists. It is in all animal species, all including us. Who flunked biology now? All the aruements against interracial marriage are used against same sex marriage. There is no more need to deny gay couples the rights of marriage than there is to deny it for senior citizens or sterile couples who want the rights, benefits and protections that come with a civil marriage contract recognized by the secular federal government..
I love these ass backwards justifications for bigotry.
I bet OP's parents said something like "Why do people compare interracial marriage to real marriage?" in the sixties.
