PITTSBURGH —
Pittsburgh police are hoping surveillance video will help them arrest a teenager who can be seen sucker punching a popular teacher at the city's Creative and Performing Arts school.
Police released the video which shows the English teacher, 50-year-old James Addlespurger, walking through a downtown alley near the school about 3:30 p.m. last Thursday. A group of teens is walking past in the other direction when one of them punches Addlespurger who drops to the ground unconscious onto a curb.
Police are saying they don't believe the teen who attacked Addlespurger goes to the school also known as CAPA, which is for 6th through 12th grade students who want to pursue a diploma with an emphasis in the performing arts.
Addlespurger has declined to comment on the attack.
