"In huge parts of America, being intelligent is something that is looked down upon."

Really?

Name two and prove proof.

"Believing religion to be illogical superstition is looked down upon."

Which religion(s) do you find illogical and why?

"Being logical, isn't it ignorant to hate Americans who excel in science and math because they don't believe a weird invisible man from 200 years ago is their savior?"

Shouldn't we first ask what these people wish to be saved from before we conclude their salvation is bogus?

"Do you think America is anti-intellectual?"

For the most-part, yes. This is because most Americans, like you, fail to ask worthwhile questions.

One side makes a claim they can't back up. The other side maintains their skepticism towards that claim. The skeptics have nothing to prove.

The analogy is stupid.

Collecting stamps is an activity, not a belief.

The "skeptics" have nothing to offer.

They either claim what is came from nothing and for no particular reason, or they ignore the question.

Why does this always devolve into religious argument? Any time a debate about intellectual attributes comes up, that is what gets jumped on. There are plenty of extremely intelligent people that are religious. That faith, or whatever you want to call it, derives from not knowing where we are from, or what happens after death. It has nothing to do with intelligence. For the record, I am not personally religious at all, but certainly understand how people can arrive at a god concept.
The reason anti-intellectualism is occurring is simple. Statistically, half of the population is below average. Check the math. Another contributing factor is the entertainment industry and what they spoon feed the masses on a daily basis. Yet another is public schools watering down the time spent on fundamentals, math, science, etc and replacing that classtime with electives holding little bearing on real life. This is not a conservative or liberal issue as both sides have plenty of morons. This is also not a religious issue. Without getting to the heart of the matter, we will simpy argue ad infinitum and never broach the truth.

You don't get it, so the analogy is stupid.

While true, your statement confirms your failure to grasp.

We "skeptics" make no god-claims.

An example of anti-intellectualism. It seems awful difficult for the religious people to grasp logic.
Religion has the reputation for cultivating an atmosphere of anti-intellectualism.
I still doubt Allah's existence.

Anti-Intellectualism allows something like Global Warming to be created, exist, and thrive.

The marketing of Global Warming is Genius.

The religious make claims (that god exists), but can't prove it. Instead of admitting to this they want skeptics to prove that god doesn't exist. That's just a cover for their inability to prove.
Anyone can claim whatever they want to claim, that's easy. Proving a claim to be true is the tough part. Therefore, all mythical creatures exist until it can be proven that they don't exist.
Religion is also social conditioning. To doubt is a sin and will ostracize the skeptics. Many fear this and will conform to a popular belief.
America's anti-intellectualism can be measured by listening to trivial conversations and surfing American TV channels.
Americans apply their intellect on their jobs. Otherwise, it's mostly entertainment.
