With all the central planning and the stripping of our civil liberties visa-vi the patriot act, I'd say we arent to far away from a Red America in terms of quality of life.
You have no clue what you're talking about. Most Cubans LOVE their country, they just HATE the communism. You know what, just take that vacation. Seriously, you obviously need one, and it wouldn't hurt you ONE BIT to talk to some Cubans, young AND old, as well as some Russians. They will tell you. They will tell you more than you thought you knew.
I lived in South Florida for over a decade and heard the stories of the Cubans that came here.
Then for a while I worked with a girl that came from Russia and heard her stories which, IMO, are worse than those of the Cubans.
It's exactly the people like Glenn Beck who want a single party system. Thus, your entire point is sort of moot.
Fortunately for you, and those of your opinion, it isn't Beck sharing his experience or giving the warning, its a video of actual survivors of Communist Governments all over the world. Older people, people with some wisdom and insight to share. Best kind of people to learn from.

They can't love their country when they reject a key aspect of it that has made Cuba what it is. It's like saying I love the USA, except for capitalism. If you take that away, the US would not be what it is.
What those Cubans love is their vision of a future Americanized Cuba...
Actually, those exile Cubans love their country less than all those Cubans who did not leave, but endure the embargo etc. The former just sit in Miami and wait for someone else to solve Cuba's problems so they can return with their dollars and enjoy life there.

I don't think anyone has the right to make such an assertion about another person. Read the passage below. Watch the video. There is little one can do for their country if they are dead. You have no idea what these people may be doing to help from afar. Perhaps much more than if they had stayed.
"Another chilling account came from a Cuban exile whose ex-husband was ordered to film the execution of 70 prisoners captured by Fidel and Raul Castro. Upon realizing that everything Fidel stood for “was a lie,” he too became the hunted."
Americans, filled with paranoia, are suckers for anything that is against communism. All ya gotta do is whip their paranoia into a frenzy and the Americans will agree to anything to 'save them from communism'.
The Land of Chumps!

Obviously they are not achieving much from the outside, after all they have been fleeing Cuba for decades...
Nor do I believe in the notion that dictatorships have to toppled by outsiders from abroad. If that were the case, most dictatorships would last forever... When people are fed up enough, they will rise. But obviously they can endure quite a lot before they rise...

Well, let's hope Americans don't end up having to "endure" what Cubans have been having to endure since Castro's Communism. Although, these survivors of Communist Regimes can see we are not headed in a good direction. Having lived through it, they recognize the danger signs of a too big government.

Americans are the ignorant saps that will give up everything to anyone who wants to save them communism.
Any thinking person should know that Americans like the word 'freedom', but that Americans are full of jingoism.
Big government is not the same as Communism/Socialism. It depends on whether nor not that government serves or dominates people.
