Today is Tax Freedom Day in the US. In other words you have all worked enough to pay your taxes to the federal government for 2012. Happy day but if you get real you will see what happens on January 1, 2013 and it is not pretty. We will all get to pay much more next year, even the lower class and middle class people that The One says will be so much better off then.

What Tax Day Could Feel Like in 2013

I am awaiting 1-1-13, the day of freedom. Freedom from the horrific Bush tax cuts to the rich that continue to destroy america. To see this temporary "stimulus" bill come a close that did nothing to stimulate the economy, create jobs, or better the nation that W and the republicans promised, will be one the greatest moments in recent history.

1-1-13 will be the day a nightmare will end, and prosperity once again can continue to shine.

Wake up, it's not the Bush tax cuts that has this country in dire straits, it's government spending....

Have you bothered to look at the deficit the U.S. Post Office will have this year?

Over $9,000,000,000,000.00 <-- That's 9 BILLION dollars.....

Bush tax cuts, boy do they have you snowed....

Since you didn't manage to read the link let me say that many of us will see the beginning of the end very plainly. Are you married? If so your income taxes will go up from reinstatement of the marriage tax? Are you a working American? If so up they go since that Bush Tax Cut thing cut taxes for everyone, working class (poor or middle class).

You have been taken in by the lie and refuse to look at what is going to happen if the "cuts" are allowed to expire. I bet that the only way they expire is if The One loses in November and he uses that to get even with us.

Tyrants love taxation.

You're half right, W and the right wingers created the perfect storm by giving massive handouts to the rich and their corporate cronies, while at the same time spending like drunken lunatics. This is what created the mess we are in today.

Inane spending, colossal give-a-ways to the rich, and who gives a damn about the debt or the american people, let's screw them over, then go on lavish vacations on their dime! ~ The motto of the GOP

Heritage’s Curtis Dubay reports that American households can expect to face an average tax increase of $3,800 and that 70 percent of Taxmageddon’s impact will fall directly on low-income and middle-income families, leaving them with $346 billion less to spend.
Sure, do away with the Bush tax cuts and soak it to the poor and lower middle class. The bottom tax rate increases by 50%, while the top rate increases by ~11%. Married couples get to pay several thousand more with the "marriage penalty". And many of the 47% that currently pay no income tax loose the EITC and other deductions.

We should have done so this year...and let the chips fall before the November elections.

I will say that very few progressives know that everybody's taxes go up when that law expires and no more of them realize that the poor will be losing their butts, also. Very few of them remember the days when they had to pay that marriage penalty. I guess they think getting divorced and continuing in the same house is OK. I refuse to let that one push me into divorce.

These people just don't realize that the tax cut was for everyone. That is one of the continual lies of the left that takes in so many of their supporters.

The "Bush" cuts expired already.
You mean the Obama cuts that are currently in effect.
