I am a girl and played with legos from the 1970s and 80s.
How are they gender based in one way or another?
Why the EFF do we need legos specifically for girls?
Why not? It's not like anyone's saying girls can't play with the others. Why can't people just accept the fact that some girls might not be interested in "gender neutral" toys? I mean really, what's the harm?
Liberals and Liberalism own this crap. This is their mentality. This is what they embrace. This is yet another reason America is circling the drain.
You know, there is a spectrum to everything, and balance is required. Liberalism taken too far leads to bad things. So does conservatism. So at least us moderates...no, we don't own this.
Because it's pink, some girls are naturally more attracted to it. Ths could lead them to have more of an interest in architecture. Why are feminists opposed to girls taking an interest in architecture and building? Not all girls feel comfortable playing with what they are taught is a toy for boys.
Okay, my computer was taking forever to open that link. So, I googled the subject and came up with a Business Weekly article. I normally don't agree with those feminist groups and perhaps I don't exactly here either. But dang, what the heck have they done to Legos. I think those new ones are pretty horrible. My girls always played with legos, they may have added a few more accessories than the boys did (like the flowers, shutters and stuff), but I never heard any complaints. Legos were just building blocks that they could all play with. I suppose my having to support free enterprise and all, the company can do what they want. I don't think I will ever buy any though. They are really LAME. They really bother me, not sure why, maybe I have a little femi streak after all.
While I don't really agree with Jerry Falwell's stance on Teletubbies, the silence from me is due totally with the fact that Teletubbies freak me the hell out.
You're probably a bit older than the Teletubbies' target demographic. As was Jerry Falwell, but he always was a bit twisted.

I see it as more choices. My nieces are two very different girls - one is a pink & purple frilly "girly-girl" who would look with interest upon the new LEGOs just because they are a bit more girly. The other niece is feminine, but hates frilly things, and prefers green, red, orange, etc. to pinky-purple stuff. I could see her with the "boy" LEGO sets more easily than the new girly ones.
