You're missing the point, as we lose good manufacturing jobs that pay well the people that can afford the Chinese cell phone become less and less. If you want a vibrant economy you need to produce things, tech and service jobs will only take you so far.

Whether we want to admit it or not we all benefit from lower cost items that are made in China.

Corporations are more profitable by virtue of moving jobs to China and by selling their goods and services there.

America has made this decision collectively everytime they buy something that says made in China and everytime no objection to a factory closing or business relocation.

I am against outsourcing jobs and sending everything to be made in China.
That said, I don't see China as an obstacle. We shot ourselves in the foot. That's the truth. Lets not blame anyone else for our stupidity.
These days commerce and international trade are important. We cannot isolate ourselves from reality and only we can improve our economy. What many don't get is that China is unstable politically and will implode one day from inside.

China is not our biggest economic problem.. Our biggest economic problem is our own government.
We have found the enemy and they are us.

That's besides the point. China could do everything by our book and still kick our butts in terms of low wages and mass production ability.

We need to start thinking about selling more things to China, not run the other direction and push the panic button like many conservative pundits are preaching.

We need to realize that wealth in other nations is good for our business. I think of China, India, Brazil, etc as potential customers, not competitors.

China economic policies mirror the dream of the GOP. No labor laws, environmental laws, minimum wage, etc. Complete deregulation of the market!

No if that happend people would revolt and overthrow the Federal Govronement since the National Guard and Millitary would side with the people..Why do you think in a bad economythe Govronment happens to find ways to keep the troops overseas instead of bringing them home..

I mean imagine 350,000 current troops and vetreans that have been in combat and have to come back to the country the way it is with no decent jobs and failing infastructure and decide to occupy..and demand labor laws and that the govronemnt starts spending money to fix up the infastructure and the Govronment would be scared and give in and have to start to listen.

See the current occupy crowd were a bunch of people that wanted to have a freeride on student loans but have not worked for it and then get people that gave up more than we can imagine to fight for us our freedoms and keep our country safe.

They earned the right to speak out for to lack of decent jobs and the trillions spent on pet projects to GE and GM who took the money and then shipped the jobs offshore while they were putting their lives on the line while they were getting by sold out by the Govronment back home that sent then to those places.

Thses are not some kids that drink $5 doller coffees and sit in a city park because they want high paying jobs just because they thought that if they went to college they were guaranteed a job no matter what.

Look on the bright side people, china is screwing up their environment with all that uncontrolled mass polution and probable to mess with their food chain, a clever strategy to get their 1.3billion population under control.

Another way and an inevitable outcome will be an all out confrontation, i dont know how many of you follow the Asian pacific news, but china have been very bold in bullying their neighbors in claiming some island that arent theirs, claiming it as their own.

US military have just begun their War games with the Philippine military close to those islands in dispute, i'm pretty sure we are heading for an all out war soon, where it may begin is anybody's guess ranging from the iranians, chinese or the n.koreans.

I'm not much for speculation but you have to admit, enemies of the US knows where are in a spot of bother regarding our economy, wars, the in-fighting from within it's population, if you were them, would'nt you think this could may well be a good time to launch a pre emptive strike?, ohh and how many times in one day do they have a government sponsored organisation trying to hack into our computer systems??

What exactly are you going to sell them?

You need brains to think of something and for it to be made, last i looked, we dont have many INHOUSE genuises because of the downturn in our education, many parents dont even understand or appreciate what it means to push their kids to have a good education FIRST, but rather push them to be involved in sports.
