That poor woman obviously has a mental disorder involving a compulsion to tan.
Related, a few days ago my mother (age 84) was talking about certain changes in society that she has witnessed. For instance, she spoke about how when she was young no young lady would have dreamed of having 'tanned skin', since sun-darkened skin was associated with farmers, construction workers, and others who worked out in the sun. Hence, your young ladies kept out of the sun as much as possible. She noted that in the 1960s the taboo about tanning quickly broke down (why, she did not know). Perhaps George Hamilton had something to do with it.
Child endangerment charges are over the top. I may not appreciate that her daughter was slightly sunburned by the incident but no way does this belong clogging up courtrooms.
As for the tanning phenomena- things have changed, and they can change back just as easily if people mean to change. I'd swear Boehner was competing with Obama for who is the blackest black man around, but then again, orange is a completely different color than cocoa. On second thought, I think he's competing with white female vanity more than he's competing with Obama. I'd be interested to hear what kids think witnessing this collective crappioca.

In China they are terrified of getting a "tan", it is exactly as you described it. You cannot see the sand at the beach from all the umbrellas.
Perhaps the shift from manufacturing in America to China has other changes involved, including the perception of class there as it once was here.
And that woman looked like a hot dog in the machine at a run down gas station that no one would purchase or remove from the carousel.
She's taking "white Guilt" a little extreme aint she? damn!!!!
