the victim's name is actually Kelly Thomas.

and those cops that did this should rot in hell. The judge who presided over their preliminary hearing has ruled that there is sufficient evidence to proceed with the trials.

What in the world is wrong with those kind of cops. Why don't any of the cops that come on the scene stop the ones that have gone haywire?

It was an enormously horrific scene of what looked like 6 or 8 huge police officers beating that very thin, much smaller man, and making all those comments to cover their butts while they were doing it. All the while he was apologizing, screaming for help, and finally calling out for his dad!

What they did was completely sadistic; I can't think of any other word for it.

Seems like just recently there was an evidentiary hearing and the judge did determine that both police officers would have to stand trial for the killing of that man. There was one officer who seemed to be right in there who was not charged. And officer named Wolfe. He was some sort of supervisor rank. He should also be charged with beating the guy to death because he certainly was in there helping!

That incident just demonstrates so loudly that for many, human life means nothing. IMO, they were all behaving like sociopaths.

Three of the Fullerton City Council members have been successfully recalled(not all ballots have been counted - but the Orange County Register reports that the recall effort is "headed for success").

Councilmembers Pat McKinley, Don Bankhead, and Richard Jones were targeted for recall due to their lack of leadership - specifically - their silence when former Police Chief Michael Sellers was called on to resign following Kelly Thomas's murder.

One symptom of schizophrenia is the denial that medication is needed. Going without it leads to a downward spiral that too often ends in homelessness. It's a tragedy for anyone or their families to deal with. I'd hate for it to be the norm in America that the mentally ill and/or homeless may be killed simply for existing. Police need special training in symptoms of mental illness and how to handle it when they encounter it. These police officers beat Thomas without mercy; his father will never live another day without knowing that his son died while crying out for his help.

The cops are not unlike any other gang out there. Usually they are only a step above the guys they are chasing.

Here is a story of some of the outrages committed by the cops who are sometimes called the "77th Street gang".
