Remember that when Donald Rumsfeld came out w/ his book, he was publicly crediting Pres. Obama for having adopted virtually of of the Bush policies that he (Obama) had campaigned against. Rummy said that after Obama got into office and got briefed, he understood the situation better, and to his credit made a lot of adjustments in his thinking.
Even a sometime-detractor of some of those policies (like me) has to admit that they have worked. Who would have thought in Oct. 2001 that more than 10 years later there would be no major repeat strikes on US soil?
The real irony here is he gave a speech on "human rights". The man who made torture, assassination, and preemptive war a part of official U.S. foreign policy, was giving a speech on human rights. He won't find many takers to what he is saying, however. Even Romney won't mention him by name.
George W. Bush, in Political Exile, says he "Found His Freedom"
It's a very sad commentary on our society that even a small handful of people would listen to a mental midget who was born into a family of multi-millionaires whine about "finding freedom."
