Excuse me? When did I say a damn thing about denying his right to say what he feels about religion. I'm the most fervent defender of the 1st Amendment you'll ever meet.
And his faith is irrational. Faith IS irrational - it's belief without reason.
And just to illustrate, here would be an equivalent bigoted statement from me (please note I don't believe what I'm about to say).
My homosexually influenced atheistic beliefs teach me that Christianity is a sinful lifestyle on par with thieving, lying, cheating, and murdering. Therefore, Christians should not be allowed to marry. Don't get me wrong, I'm not condemning Christian marriage because I hate Christians, I'm condemning it because those who embrace it will never enter the kingdom of human enlightenment.
You are comparing an inborn trait(race) with a personal choice(sexual preference). How is it analogous?
Where in the 14th Amendment's equal protection clause does it distinguish between inborn trait and sexual preference choice? Religion is undeniably a personal choice. Are you saying that the 14th Amendment would allow for laws to discriminate on the basis of one's religious affiliation?
And stop being daft. Sexual orientation is an inherent, immutable human characteristic in which choice plays no role whatsoever.
Because I would be advocating for the intolerant treatment of an entire group of people (in this case the denial of equal civil rights and equal treatment under the law for Christians) based on my personal prejudices (an irrational belief that Christians are sinners on par with murderers). How much more bigoted can you get?

Of course. If there was a religious sect that believed in human sacrifice and wanted to practice it - I would have absolutely no problem with telling them that they had no protection under the 14th Amendment.

All Christians are sinners on par with murderers.
It is only through the blood of Jesus Christ that we are redeemed and our confession of him that we are forgiven.
