Back during the 2008 campaign, Barack Obama debuted the "BILLY" ad. Who is "BILLY" you may ask?

Quote:
As a presidential candidate in 2008, then-Sen. Barack Obama ran a campaign ad titled "Billy" in which he blasted the influence that drug companies had in writing the 2003 Medicare prescription drug program for senior citizens. Specifically, the ad highlighted Billy Tauzin, R-La., a former top Republican House member who had fought to prevent the government from negotiating lower drug prices, then retired from Congress and took a job as the pharmaceutical industry's top lobbyist. "I don't want to learn how to play the game better," Obama vowed. "I want to put an end to the game-playing."
Here's the video:

Pretty noble idea, right? We can all get behind a person who campaigns against that kind of cronyism right?

Wrong.

Quote:
Between May and August 2009, as the White House officials and key players in Congress were formulating the national health care law, the Obama administration held ongoing negotiations with PhRMA,the drugmakers' trade group, to secure industry support for the health care law.
Wait, you mean the Obama administration was engaging BILLY on healthcare reform negotiations in order to gain PhRMA's support???

Quote:
As part of the final deal, PhRMA agreed to support health care legislation, spend millions on ads promoting it, and concede $80 billion in savings and taxes to help finance the bill. In exchange, PhRMA not only ended up with a law that promised to provide it with millions of new customers, but protected it against policies contemplated by Democrats that would have been harmful to their profits. In addition to preventing drug reimportation, the White House also blocked the government from negotiating lower drug prices in the Medicare prescription drug program -- precisely what Obama had faulted Tauzin for doing from his perch in Congress.

That September, top PhRMA lobbyist Bryant Hall reported in an email that he "had a good call w [with] Messina" and wrote: "Confidential: WH is working on some very explicit language on importation to kill it in health care reform. This has to stay quiet."

Yep, that's exactly what happened. HYPOCRISY to the highest order. Not only did the bill BAN medication reimportation that would have saved taxpayers billions of dollars, it also BANNED the government from negotiating drug prices. THE EXACT SAME THING THAT BARACK OBAMA RAILED AGAINST IN THE CAMPAIGN AD!!!

It is absolutely disgusting what this President has perpetrated on the United States of America. Mr. Hope N Change turned out to be a colossal failure, to the point that he would engage in large-scale hypocrisy in order to secure a political victory.

Is that what Obama voters wanted when they fell hook, line, and sinker for the FAILED HOPE N CHANGER??

There's nobody to hold him accountable. The media surely won't, they will back him all the way. He knows full well that he can give his base these great talking points and then go out and do the exact opposite and nobody will be the wiser or even care.

Truly outrageous...but we suspected as much.

Drugmakers Vowed to Campaign for Health Law, Memos Show - Businessweek

Quote:
Drugmakers led by Pfizer (PFE) (PFE) Inc. agreed to run a “very significant public campaign” bankrolling political support for the 2010 health-care law, including TV ads, while the Obama administration promised to block provisions opposed by drugmakers, documents released by Republicans show.

The internal memos and e-mails for the first time unveil the industry's plan to finance positive TV ads and supportive groups, along with providing $80 billion in discounts and taxes that were included in the law. The administration has previously denied the existence of a deal involving political support.
So he LIED. What do his supporters think of this?

That's the truth, no doubt about it. But the curtains are being pulled back on this President and sunlight is being shed on things this election cycle that the President's minions would prefer to remain in darkness. I believe it's imperative that we conservatives carry the torch and keep shining the light. The best defense is a solid offense. America is waking up to the Amateur In The White House.

Barack Obama is a shameless liar. I'd be more than happy to hear a logical reason for his voters to continue to support this President considering that he thinks they're just plain stupid. How else can you interpret his actions?

Unbelievable. Just mindboggling how many people were hoodwinked by this President.

You won't be hearing any response from the left. They avoid things like you posted, the truth, like the plague. Or they are off awaiting their orders from media matters on how to respond. Thirty nine views of your thread and not one swooner jumps in tells the story.

So, a politician LIED.

THIS is news to either of you because?

Know of any politicains who don't lie?

HINT: "Well, I don't remember" IS NOT an acceptable cover up for lying

Yes, Obama lied

He's a political hack, of course he lied.

Show us a political hack from either side of the aisle who hasn't lied.

THAT would be news.

Someday you may open both of your eyes and realize that BOTH parties are full of political hacks who lie, until then we'll continue on the downhill spiral we've been on for years now.

If you weren't a shameless hypocrite you'd admit that no matter who someone supports for POTUS they'll be supporting a liar.
