That is not true. It has been stated time and again that the Church CAN do adoptions but will not get State funds to do it.
That's like saying that I, Charles45, CAN do adoptions but will not get State funds to do it.
I CAN do adoptions legally; I CANNOT do adoptions practically without exorbitantly charging adoptive parents and becoming a business rather than a charity.
A Christian, for religious purposes, is someone who is validly baptized and who can recite the Creed without mental reservations.
Spiritually, there will always be tares among the wheat.
That's generous. My definition is far narrower than that.
A Christian is someone that actually LIVES the faith, and isn't just baptized into it. Hell, i was baptized. Doesn't make me a Christian.
And to be honest, i'm not impressed with the behavior of the majority of Christians, which is partly why i'm not one anymore. It's a faith that is rife with hypocrisy...and i just can't stand to play along with it.
Among the typical Christian religions, Catholicism goes to extremes in their rituals and teachings. I never heard of anyone being anti-Catholic or anti-Jew in the Pittsburgh area. Judge yee lest thy be judged or something.

I once knew a priest who told me that whenever someone said he wouldn't join the Church because "there are too many hypocrites", Father would reply "there's always room for one more".
It isn't as though Christians either live their faith or they don't. The Christian life is analog, not digital or binary. Most who do live their faith, live it very imperfectly. The Church gives us canonized saints to show us what perfection looks like. That's what we're striving for. Meanwhile, we fall, repent, and get up again ... a long process for most of us.

I love Pittsburgh. It's old school.

A church, however, does have the right to withdraw charity if it feels that it is in their best interest.
Ok? So? What is the problem again? Are you still not getting it? The Catholic Church can discriminate against gays and adopt...it just can not get state funds to do it with. The Catholic Church can hold true to its morals of no abortion but it will not get federal government contracts for human trafficking. So stop the whining.
