No it doesn't fit the line of the war on obesity that the idiot mayor keeps squealing about. Dorito sales will skyrocket if weed is legalized. He chose the battle he wants to fight and now is doing the opposite. Kinda like banning soda then honoring nat donut day. Like the previous poster said the guy is an idiot.

But hey, why spoil a perfectly good conservative rant with THE FACTS?

And that means it's perfectly fine for the government to say no happy hour, no smoking cigarettes, no LARGE SODAS?!?!?

Just as long as everyone can smoke as much pot as they want...it's all OK by you, right?

Will you be OK with weed being banned from bars, restaurants, apartment buildings, playgrounds, beaches and Times Square like cigarettes are?

That's usually how it works...smoking is smoking. Are you under the impression that decriminalizing a small amount = smoking pot everywhere whenever you want? Why?

This is about possession and the law and the exact OPPOSITE of nannystateism.

Second hand marijuana smoke is not harmful as second hand cigarette smoke With that being said, this doesn't allow someone to smoke weed in a public place, that is not changing. This is decriminalizing possession of small amounts of weed.

So...taking marijuana smoke into your lungs isn't unhealthy, but tobacco smoke is?

What a city! No smoking, no trans-fats, no salt, no big sodas! That might make you unhealthy...but by God pot is good for you so go right ahead!

No, this isn't a thread about legalizing marijuana (I think it should be) so please don't turn it into one. This thread is about Bloomberg and his idiocy....again.
The thread IS about the legality of marijuana. Bloomberg wants to cut down on the cost of enforcement. That's an absolute softening of marijuana laws and has more to do with that than big sodas.

They can't be policing small amounts of pot with limited resources. They need them to police the spots where they are needed the most --- fast food restaurants.

Hmmm, you might be onto something there. The fine for smoking cigarettes is $50? If you make it legal to possess and then make it illegal to smoke in public place you could rack up all kinds of fines without the expense of court etc.
