If 150,000 jobs are created in an average month from now through October, the regression equation projects a very close result, showing a victory for Mr. Obama in the popular vote by about 1 percentage point.

That would translate into about a 60 percent chance of his winning the popular vote given the historical error in the formula when fit to past elections.

Interesting.

If magical unicorns came down carrying fairies with the power to sprinkle fairy dust in the Emerald City, and the Wizard of Oz was a powerful wizard, or the yellow brick road was made out of gold.....

btw, Obama is so far in the lead by Electoral votes, that the author of your story displayed that they understand very little about how people win elections, and since you quoted them....

Obama and Romney currently have 0 electoral votes each. And no poll, online or phone or otherwise, changes that.

So it's all about the numbers ? Just open a lot of McD's and hire burger flippers..voila..there's your 150K jobs. Next month do Burger King and work your way through all the fast food restaurants til November.

Or..maybe another stimulus is in store. Didn't Obama shelf some of that stimulus money from 2009 ?

Well, the President not only has to deal with economic tantrums in Europe, and in the USA, but also with plenty of idiots in the Congress, propped up by their faithful servants. Good luck to him for getting something done which has been done only 2-3 times in last 12 years (the other being 2011, at 189K/month). The current pace thru first five months is 172K/month. Private sector job growth per month... the top five since 2000:
1- 2005: 211K
2- 2011: 189K
3- 2012: 172K* (so far)
4- 2004: 153K
5- 2006: 147K

And the worst:
2008: -388K

Not only that but he wouldn't hesistate credit himself with the leadership and master plan to get it done. He isn't unlike any other President where he would be quick to shift the blame but equally quick to pat himself on the back when things go right.

Don't count on it. In the first place, there are more issues than just jobs.

There is the matter of our debt. Our children and grandchildren will be paying for Obama's blunders and reckless spending for perhaps the rest of their lives.

There is the matter of the unconstitutional "health care" law, shoved down our throats with no one having even read the bill! How American is that?

There are the massive new regulations at every level; roadblocks to business expansion, and business start up.

There is the issue of wasting billions of taxpayer dollars on so-called "green" energy companies, who have since filed bankruptcy. These "investments" were little more than payoffs to Obama supporters.

There is the issue of energy prices. Gasoline, electricity.

There is the issue of shutting down electric generating plants (coal), further increasing the cost of electricity.

There is the corruption of the Holder so-called "Justice" Department, "Fast and Furious", failure to prosecute criminals (New Black Panthers) and uphold laws (DOM). The lawsuit against AZ for taking action to defend their borders (which every State has a right and duty to do).

There is the EPA flying surveillance drones over ranches, illegally spying on them.

I think you get the picture. This man is nothing but a Chicago thug, and a scum bag.

It's interesting that he has questioned the qualifications of candidates for President recently; but of all the candidates running for President, Barack Obama is the least qualified. And he has occupied the office for over three years. But that is just it; all he has done is "occupy" it.

Oh, and I forgot to mention: Their "jobs creation" figures are phony anyway. Don't believe them.
