Er...No. Third world nations are characterized by huge economic inequality. An elite hold all the wealth, and the rest have little or nothing. Normally the elite is the people with the political/military power.

Certainly we are not approaching 3rd world status. Far too many safety nets in place. While we have growing wealth and income inequality, the same problem has existed in Mexico for decades. Mexico is far from a third world country.

I want people to stop acting as if there is a magic pill that will fix everything.
I want our kids to be encouraged to study math and hard science so that they can compete.
I want to see a return to long-term planning rather than the current fixation of this quarter's profits.
I want people to stop believing that they too will become rich as long as they keep defending the status quo.
