This shows how barbaric Islam is at least in Afghanistan or parts of the Middle East. But what does the bible say for those evangelicals who want to return to live by it?
If a man commits adultery with another man's wife, both the man and the woman must be put to death. (Leviticus 20:10 NLT)

The bible also in Lev. says to kill Witches, Homosexuals, fortune tellers, Fornicators, and other books in the bible say to kill believers in other religions, cursing parents, false profits and those who do not listen to priests.

Now most of us know that Jesus and the New Testaments was more measured and said for he who is without sin to cast the first stone, but the Evangelicals use Lev. to condemn homosexuals, so where is the out rage for adultery and fortune tellers and fornicators?

Is the evangelical right just a radical akin to the Taliban? Seems to be so.

Why is this killing more outrageous than an American drone strike that kills tens of people at once that have done nothing and call it OK as collateral damage?
I think its because when killing is on this level its so personal and more or at least it seems to be more deliberate and so more distasteful.

There are nutty fundamentalists in all religions .... which demonstrates why all religions are fundamentally bad.

So I re-read your post and edited what I said. What has religion got to do with this again?

What a ridiculous comment. It's as stupid as claiming this:

There are scientists creating weapons designed to slaughter millions and eugenicists who advocate forced sterilization, therefore all science is fundamentally bad.

Um...Islam doesn't follow the Bible. They have their own book..the Koran.
In the ME, religion is the law. No so here in the US.

Yet people continue to make the comparison. Educate yourselves first about the differences.

People use religion to justify their own prejudices. I've never heard anyone say, I can't stand those SOBs, but the Bible tells me to love them, so I do.

Jesus never said that.

You're referring to a story known as the Pericope of the Adulteress.

That story does not appear in any manuscripts prior to 1100 A.D.

E13 has it at John 7:53-8:11, but rather embarrassingly, Fragment 225 inserts it after John 7:36; E1 inserts it after John 21:25; Fragment 115 puts after John 8:12; E13 also inserts it at Luke 21:38; and finally, Fragment 1333 inserts it after Luke 24:53.

If you are reading scholarly journals or books and see the phrase "floating text" they are most likely talking about the Pericope. The evidence strongly suggests it was made up and added to the texts to negate criticism of the popes, who had scandalous sexual, homosexual and bisexual affairs, raped women and children and did other horrible things (like commit murder).

Accurately....

Mircea

You have stated the difference in your post here. The ONLY thing keeping Christianity in check in most countries is the fact that there are laws prohibiting them from acting out the savage laws and practices as dictated in the bible. Let us not forget what the Dark Ages were about!
