In May of 2012 the DPMA (Doctor Patient Medical Association) did a non-partisan survey of 699 doctors around the United States. Myself, being in the medical field expected these type of result's. But for those of you who are not in the medical field, these results will be distressing to say the least.

Default Report: 83 percent of doctors have considered quitting over Obamacare

Eighty-three percent of American physicians have considered leaving their practices over President Barack Obama’s health care reform law, according to a survey released by the Doctor Patient Medical Association.

The DPMA, a non-partisan association of doctors and patients, surveyed a random selection of 699 doctors nationwide. The survey found that the majority have thought about bailing out of their careers over the legislation, which was upheld last month by the Supreme Court.

Really?

Guiding Principles | Doctor Patient Medical Association

Quote:
Participation in government programs or health care plans should be voluntary for both patients and medical professionals.
Quote:
Patients’ freedom to directly contract with medical professionals and choose their own method of payment -- independent of health care plans or government programs -- empowers medical professionals to give the best, individualized care to their patients.
Quote:
Placing responsibility squarely where it belongs, on the shoulders of the patients, will encourage individuals to make healthy lifestyle choices. Infusing personal responsibility into health care reform allows us all to maintain our cherished freedom to live our lives without government intrusion.

Consider the source: Doctor Patient Medical Association - SourceWatch

There are a lot of physicians in my family, and no one has said a peep about Obamacare, because it remains unseen how it will affect them. My aunt, who is a physician, supported single payer even though she is pretty sure it would lower her salary, because she feels it is more important that all Americans get good healthcare.
