Funny how the conversation died out. Seems like people are only concerned with protesters behaving badly, not the police who are being paid for being there.

Default Occupy My @%%@$

Look I cannot stand Occupy but what happened in LA at ART Walk was typical over reaction by hte powers that be. Check this out, there once was a time when Art Walk was about ART. Now its a glorified PUB CRAWL. Which is cool by the way but people who live down here need to stop acting as if the only **** that matters in downtown LA is the further gentrification of the area as well as the degredation of the poor folk who stay downtown. Occupy had WATER SOLUABLE CHALK people and they were writing on the sidewalk while it was raining a tad so the stuff was not sticking. Yeah a few knuckleheads wrote on walls but the stuff comes right off and if you live downtown LA you know that on every block damn near someone is spraying down the side walks eery morning anyway. So yeah THe LAPD severly over reacted BECAUSE Art Walk is a money making event for the bars and restaurants. Problem is that Occupy was not stopping anyone from patronizing the nice places on spring street.

I only saw a few videos of what happened after the event. The news stories that followed told a completely different story than what you just described however.

There have been multiple situations where the news stories and what actually happened are completely at odds. The whole Oakland riot comes to mind 1st. Police, according to the media, said the protesters were told to disperse, but independent video evidence of the incident clearly shows that the protesters were surrounded and then the police simply started to move in swinging batons.

If those stories were fabricated, then how many other stories have been fabricated to try to demonize the group? The Occupy crowd seems to be the only group that has been assaulted by the police in decades.

Those involved in the occupy movement are meerly "useful idiots" that are being used by the powers that be. They will become violent, because that is in the interest of those that control them. I would be insulted to be used in such a way but they are not intelligent enough to even realize that they are being used,.

The OWS movement has SOME valid arguments. Yes, I do think big $$$ has hijacked the political process, and the people en mass are getting shafted. Unfortunately, it's the presentation that really turns me off to this whole movement. They look, act and sound like a bunch of whiny losers. It's understandable why many of them are unsuccessful in this country. Just because they suck does not mean they system is broken. It's broken for other reason, but not because many of them are stuck on mom and dad's couch.

I really wish they would go away already. Revise their strategy at the very least. And if they cross the line, give them a dose of reality... A few spoon fulls of a billyclub aught cure what ales them...

You're being too kind. Some of Occupiers are not intelligent enough to be "idiots". I've heard some of them speak with the media.

Yes, and imagine if all the backwoods dwelling, toothless wonders began uniting and marching for the conservative cause

Idiocy knows no political bounds. Just look at congress as evidence of such.

"Powers that be"??

Which powers would those be? You can't criticize them for not being organized, then claim they're organized by some "power that be"

At least they knew that the system was broken. If we don't get things fixed, there won't be needs for protest. We'll be just like Europe.
