Presidents cannot be recalled by the people for the simple reason that the people did not elect the President, the Electoral College (chosen by the State legislatures), elected the President.

What would trigger a recall?
How would it be conducted?
Would there be an election, or simply a removal of the President (the office then to be filled through the succession)?
Would there be primaries?
How would the election be scheduled?
Would this be an election by popular vote?

so much lose in the OP. if we institute a recall amendment, then anytime anyone gets a bug up their backside can initiate a recall petition against a sitting president, and all that would do is cost the country tons of money and time that could be better spent on other things.

even if you make to where a president has to commit some kind of malfeasance, it still costs huge amounts of time and money. besides, how many of us would really like to hear political commercials all year around?

this is why elections matter.

The 28th amendment should be one that says the first amendment means political speech, not gazillionaires on both sides of the aisle buying up all the air time on mass media and spreading lies from BOTH directions whether from a corporation or not.

Buyers remorse is placed right on your shoulders.

There are consequence from your actions. Better to think it all out and do your own research before the election, not after.
Let ignorance be your guide and then scream recall!

Which is why a 28th Amendment should eliminate the Electoral College.
