Ahead of the curve is surrendering personal liberty to collectivist Socialism. Not a curve to covet, that is for certain.

The majority of the state's taxpayers have now voted TWICE that they can't afford to pay the taxes to fund Wisconsin's progressive policies. Even the progressives' vindictive Walker recall election failed. Perhaps Madison's liberal taxpayers can step up to the plate and fund the progressive policies for everyone else. They can really show their dedication to the cause by putting their money where their mouths (and protest signs, protest chant drums, petitions, etc.) are. I'm sure they won't mind.

Cause it's a kick in the junk to dems.....that's why!

If a repub would have went to the dem side, there would be at least 2-3 separate threads about "see the people of WI hate the repubs" or something like that....

Senators from both parties said they believed Democrats retain a 17-16 majority because Cullen is still a member of the party. If Cullen remains a party member, the Democratic margin would change to 17-15 on Aug. 5, when Sen. Rich Zipperer (R-City of Pewaukee) plans to resign to become Gov. Scott Walker's deputy chief of staff.
which kind of takes the breeze out of the sails of this thread and undermines using right-wing blogs as a source of news.

Wisconsin Dems: Three weeks of non-control after tens of millions $$$$$ burned.

...someone miscalculated the political climate and the support they would have.

OK - special election is in December. Zipperer's district is solid right. So you will be right for about a month. Then it's back to 16-16-1.

That's about right for how long any current Democrat majority should last.
According to the OP, this guy didn't leave the party due to "conscience" or any other such adult motive.

He left because the Democrats weren't giving him enough goodies.

You can take the politician out of the entitlement mentality, but you can't take the entitlement mentality out of the politician.

Nobody trusts a turncoat, for good reason. Hopefully he'll get booted in his next election, and a grownup (i.e. a conservative) will be put in.

Well - he was the only Dem that did NOT get a committee assignment. When you see the list below, you can understand his point.

It still is.

But you have to eat too.

Property taxes on a 110,000 house in Madison are 3,500 a year.

At current interest rates your taxes are almost as big as your house payment.

Chicago will be democratic long after all of us are dead and they are ALSO trying to institute the public union reforms. Public union reform is not a partisan issue despites to make it so.

In my hometown in the broke-as-heck state of Illinois. School sign-up fees etc. are approaching $1,000 because the state can't\isn't helping fund things anymore.

I haven't had much of a raise in 3 years and pay more of my own health, dental etc.

Explain to me why the public sector should be immune to having to tighten it's belt when the private sector is suffering through hard times? Especially in states where they are deeeeep in bed with the politicians that pay them and then loyally turn around and mass votes and money for said politicians.

I think my points are reasonable and non-partisan, I'd appreciate similar return comments.

Mathguy - My property taxes in RW New Hampshire ar about that on a 100 grand condo. We do not have public or private unions and the wages reflect that. NH is a great place to be wealthy and live modestly. If you are a show off with Laconia lakefront the assessment is $100 dollars per linear foot of shoreline. The showoffs pay dearly up there.
