Why not? On the simple principle of freedom, I say they should be legal.

This thread died on the first page when Harrier pointed out that they are legal.

How does them being legal negate the question? Question whether something should be legal does not presume it's illegal. Abortion is legal and many people ask whether it should be legal.

I'd bet my house that 99% of gun crimes are not committed with class 3 weapons.

Many things are legal and it doesn't stop people from asking if they should be legal.

Fine then, allow me to expand: ALL MACHINE GUNS, not just those manufactured before May 1986, should be legal for possesion. The National Firearms act of 1934, is 100% Unconstitutional, and needs to be repealed, and by proxy, so would fall the Gun Control Act of 1968, and the Machine Gun ban of 1986. They are all total BS. I should be able to walk down to my local gun store and purchase a full Rock N Roll Ma duece, if I so desire.

Pretty sure that it's far easier to get an abortion on any given day than any sort of legal automatic firearm/short barreled shotgun/short barreled rifle/suppressor/destructive device.

I sometimes wonder if the authors of the "right to bear arms" may have worded it differently if they knew what kind of firepower they were condoning a few hundred years up the road.

Maybe it's time to reconsider what is an assault weapon and reclassify AR-15's, etc.
