Here is a link to a yahoo article which reports on the census press release explaining that 50% of Americans are living in poverty or close to it.
Democracy is a system of equal political power. But your political power depends on your income. And income is allocated based on the economic system. Capitalism maximizes income inequality. We have some people making 50,000 times more than others. So they have 50,000 times more political power. Therefore a capitalist society can never be democratic.
In order to have democracy, a society where power rests with everyone equally, income must rest with everyone equally. But income is also used as an incentive to get people to do difficult work and give their maximum effort.
So the only way to have a society that is democratic and the only way to also have an economy that works well, is to have a system where differences in income are limited by law to just what is necessary to get people to do difficult work and to get people to give their maximum effort.
This is all explained in detail in the post I linked to.
I do want communism. You also want communism. Everyone wants communism. Communism is a society where all jobs are automated so work is completely voluntary. And our productive capacity is so great, we no longer need to ration goods and services. So everything is free.
Unfortunately, we do not have the technology yet to achieve communism.
Right, I don't advocate communism, because we do not have the technology yet to achieve communism.

This thread is priceless.

What's priceless is that you don't know how to Google so you know what "you" have posted on the internet. Or what advocate means.

Forum Post: Trotsky on What a Socialist America would look like | OccupyWallSt.org

In this thread, "you" have written a 3 part post supporting communism in America. This is the first sentance and it just gets funnier from there:

"Should America go communist as a result of the difficulties and problems that your capitalist social order is unable to solve, it will discover that communism, far from being an intolerable bureaucratic tyranny and individual regimentation, will be the means of greater individual liberty and shared abundance."

Like I pointed out in an earlier comment, the comedy of this thread is in reading all the comments by all of you who are so confident in subjects you know nothing about. This is a perfect example.

You are convinced I am not the guy at OWS and that I wrote an article written by Trotsky.

Make sure you continue to not let reality ever get in the way of the things you think.

This ain't the best comment of the thread, I don't know if anyone will beat the claim that unemployment is a natural law like gravity that you can do nothing about, but it is close to the top.

Yes, I do. I'm fully aware of how the international business community works. There'll be winners and losers.

Your pie-in-the-sky social schemantics aside, none of your endoctrination will work until capitalist imperatives are removed from the human experience...good luck...

Try reading. Really, try it. It's a good thing. The post was a copy of a letter written BY Trotsky and posted by the user DemandtheGoodLifedotcom, whom you claim to be.
Since you don't seem to recall posting it, either you have the worst memory ever, or you're full of S**T. I vote for the latter.

Leon Trotsky was a founder of the Russian Revolution and critic of Stalin. He claimed Russia was no longer socialist once Stalin came into power. He wrote a letter explaining why socialism in the US would be vastly different than socialism in Russia since Russia was a backwards, medieval, undeveloped society:

I hate to be the first one to let reality get in the way of what you are doing here, but you said I wrote this sentence in support of communism:

"Should America go communist as a result of the difficulties and problems that your capitalist social order is unable to solve, it will discover that communism, far from being an intolerable bureaucratic tyranny and individual regimentation, will be the means of greater individual liberty and shared abundance."

And that was a sentence written by Trotsky.

Yes, I said that in my post. The letter, written by Leon Trotsky, was posted about 3 months ago on an OWS site by DemandtheGoodLifedotcom. You claim to be the person who posts to that OWS site under that name. So, if you are the user DemandtheGoodLifedotcom in regards to a post identical to the one that started this thread on that site, then you must also be the user who posted the Trotsky letter on that site.

I guess you're also DemandtheGoodLifedotcom on many other sites (easy to find via Google). One has to wonder why you broke with tradition to be FairnessIsGlorious on CD. I doubt the other user name was taken.

But, it really doesn't matter that you plagarized someone else's manifesto. That is the least ridiculous thing about this whole thread.

Editing your comment to try to hide your claim that I wrote an article written by Trotsky just adds to the lols.

en 115'000 would be the new poverty level just as 18000 the last I read it was which use to be a solid middle income. The problem is the link to product that that income can buy would go up to compensate for what it then cost to produce. We saw this in germany after WWI.Just has printing more money only makes it of less value without production increases or lower cost to produce.

Hey, rocket scientist, I edited it at the same time you posted. Hardly a tin foil hat conspiracy. Except in your mind.......

And the original post was correct. I edited to be more clear that the post was a copy of Trotsky's letter. The post by DemandtheGoodLifedotcom was ABOUT Trotsky. It was a post of a copy of a letter he wrote advocating for Communism. Since the poster didn't add anything to disagree with or contradict the letter, one can interpret that he/she is in agreement with Trotsky.
